This movie goes on to touch on some pretty strong possibilities, but then presents them in such a suggestive way that sudden bursts of emotion or references to strong feelings and dilemmas come a little out of the blue.
Never mind that his main crisis here doesn’t make much sense, given the unembittered quality of both his romantic and spiritual pursuits
The protagonist is a pretty unique person and has a strong back story, but her interactions with her love interest veer between predictable and gratuitous, and what’s supposed to be a spiritual crisis feels more like amateurish than deep exploration.
